Founded in 1973 by John and Valerie Wills and trading as John F Wills & Co Ltd, the company was renamed Orion Insurance Management to better represent the service it provides. Today the company is now owned by David Le Poidevin together with The Swallow 2018 Charitable Trust.

Orion Insurance Management have always provided residents of the Bailiwick of Guernsey with a comprehensive range of insurance services from home and contents cover to health cover and motor through an agency with Insurance Corporation of the Channel Islands. Orion is the appointed managers for La Fraternelle Mutual Fire Insurance Society, providing domestic fire insurance cover for building and contents in the Bailiwick. They are also the appointed managers for the Ancient Order of Foresters Friendly Society, which specialises in providing healthcare insurance. This product is known as the Foresters Healthcare Scheme and is also available to residents within the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
